Program Facilitation Staff

Morse Hill Outdoor Education Center is looking for energetic and enthusiastic program staff to lead groups of children, teens, and adults in team building initiatives, ropes course activities, and other outdoor experiences. Morse Hill is an 85-acre year-round outdoor center in Shutesbury, MA that has been running summer camps and outdoor adventure programs for area youth and community members since 1999.

Our ideal candidate has experience leading groups and is skilled in interpersonal communication and team-building facilitation.  Ropes course/belay certification is a plus, but we will train the right candidates.

Hours vary from 8 to 32 hours a week; fewer hours in the early spring with more hours available in late spring. Some weekend hours available, but mostly Monday-Friday.

Successful program staff can transition into full-time work during the summer (mid-June through late-August) as camp counselors for our Rattlesnake Adventure Camps. Fall Program employment also available.

Summer Camp Staff

Morse Hill Outdoor Education Center is looking for energetic and enthusiastic camp counselors to lead groups of children and teens in team building initiatives, ropes course activities, and other outdoor experiences as part of our Rattlesnake Adventure Camps. Morse Hill is an 85-acre year-round outdoor center in Shutesbury, MA that has been running summer camps and outdoor adventure programs for area youth and community members since 1999.

The camp counselor role includes leading groups of campers as either part of our Day Camp or Specialty Camps hiking, canoeing, rock-climbing, rappelling, and mountain biking along with low- and high-ropes course activities. Senior counselors also drive campers in a 15-passenger van and work in partnership with a junior counselor and a counselor-in-training.

Our ideal candidate has outdoor experience with kids and is skilled in interpersonal communication and team-building facilitation. First Aid/CPR certification preferred, and ropes course/belay certification is a plus, but we will train the right candidates.

Summer camp training begins on 6/15 and employment goes through August 21. Daily hours are approximately 8:30 to 5, with Friday evening staff meetings. Full summer commitment preferred, but there’s some flexibility and we encourage each staff member to take one full week off during the summer.
